From Congresswoman Sara Jacobs’ office:

Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (CA-53) has secured $1 million in federal funding for the County of San Diego Child Care Expansion Fund in the Fiscal Year 2022 Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) Subcommittee Appropriations bill. Jacobs’ Community Project Funding request was the largest project advanced in the bill and is currently the only request advanced within San Diego County.

The $1 million in federal funding for the Child Care Expansion Fund would be used by the County of San Diego to address the acute shortage of child care by helping small child care businesses expand…The County of San Diego would work with Mission Driven Finance, a local impact investment firm, to administer the funds equitably and create opportunities for underserved communities.
