SAY (Social Advocates for Youth) San Diego
What they do & why we invested
SAY (Social Advocates for Youth) San Diego offers social services catering to the needs of infants, youth, and families. Despite setbacks due to COVID-19—including the closure of its Early Childhood Center and fee-for-service programs and reduced staff—SAY was able to offer many programs by telephone or virtually. Its vision is opportunity, equity, and well-being for all San Diegans. SAY offers comprehensive social services that cater to the needs of infants, youth, and families. These services include before-and-after school programs, delinquency prevention and youth development, child abuse prevention, community development and collaboration, family support/development, child care, and mental health services.
The COVID-19 Small Business & Nonprofit Loan Program will allow SAY San Diego to respond to childcare needs and reopen the Early Childhood Center and hire back much needed staff to continue their operations.
