About the property

Care Access Real Estate’s (CARE) 11th property is a single-story home centrally located in Las Vegas, near a large public park, golf club, elementary school, and middle school.

This property boasts a large outdoor area and an extra large driveway. The spacious primary child care area features a clear line of sight from the entryway to the backyard sliding door. Initially equipped with two bathrooms, CARE added another half bath adjacent to the primary child care area.

About the provider

Rhayvin and her family moved to Las Vegas from Chicago when she was 13 years old. As the eldest in her family with six siblings, she has been caring for children for over half her life. By age 16, Rhayvin wanted to start her own babysitting business, though her mom tried to warn her that once she started working, she would be working nonstop the rest of her days.

Undeterred, Rhavyin printed some flyers at school to show her mom she was serious.

“I love seeing children make discoveries on their own, not what you are trying to teach them,” says Rhayvin. “When they realize something [on their own], they are so proud of what they learned. Nothing warms my heart more than day-to-day with children.”

Rhayvin earned her degree in biology and human nutrition. After some time as a doula and nanny, however, Rhayvin kept coming back to her purpose of caring for multiple children. That’s when she connected with Wonderschool, which connected her with CARE Nevada.

“There’s nothing like doing what you are made to do, not what you learned to do,” says Rhayvin. “I got my culinary certification so I can teach children how to be hands-on with the food—the preparation, the growing of it. We have a garden in the backyard, so we show them from seed to table like, ‘You did this with your hands. You’re very capable.’ Yes, we gotta teach ABCs, we gotta teach them to write. But we also gotta teach them to get their hands in that dirt and see that tiny seed sprout. ‘And now we’re eating your salad.’ Their experience will teach others.”

As soon as Rhayvin took that first tour of the property, seeing all the boxes it ticked for her, she knew she was home: “This is my match. I knew.” Rhayvin moved into her new home in June of 2024.

“It feels absolutely amazing,” Rhayvin shares. “I jumped for joy, like, ‘This is what we’ve been waiting for, this is what the hard work was for.’ I just feel so grateful. It’s almost like living in an extended dream.”

Once Rhayvin receives her large family child care license, she will be able to care for up to 12 children with the help of an assistant. Multiple families have already approached her wanting to place their children on her waitlist.

“It’s been the joy of our lives to be in this space and continue in a great way, because when I first started this journey, I thought I was going to care for six children, and I was so grateful for just that,” says Rhayvin. “Up to 12? Blew my mind. I’m so grateful to be where I am today.”
