In June 2024, Chief Community Officer Lauren Grattan and Senior Director of Indigenous Futures Ted Piccolo spoke on separate panels at Oweesta Corporation’s 9th Annual Native CDFI Capital Access Convening. The event, in Santa Ana Pueblo in New Mexico, brought together 88 Native CDFIs and Native American Financial Institutions, 43 funders and investors, 41 partner organizations, and nonprofits and Tribal entities.

Lauren spoke on a morning plenary, “Leveraging Philanthropy to Build Tribal Economies,” with Dante Desiderio of Native Americans in Philanthropy, Nikki Foster of Northwest Area Foundation, and Tim Rios of Wells Fargo.

Ted spoke on a keynote panel, “Securing and Collaborating with Lending Partners,” with Jeff Bowman of Bay Bank, Diane Sontum of the State Small Business Credit Initiative, U.S. Department of the Treasury, Shannon Ward of Native American Bank, facilitated by James Colombe of the Office of Tribal and Native Affairs, U.S. Department of the Treasury.
