What they do

Co-founded in 2015 by Tri Le, MyPhuong Le, and Leah Villegas, Microtek specializes in developing microelectronic technologies that integrate engineering with chemistry and biology.

This innovative company manages early research and development, prototyping, manufacturing, and product development. Their mission is to accelerate the integration of engineering and life sciences to improve human health.

Why we invested

Driven by a desire to prove that one can build a successful business without compromising ethics, Microtek plans to build a network of other businesses, creating an innovation hub, and bringing more quality jobs to the region by adding five to ten positions by 2021.

Microtek is working on implantable devices to detect breast cancer and a portfolio of intellectual property for patenting. Through the Asian Business Association San Diego Small Business Development Center, Microtek learned about Mission Driven Finance, which invested in the company to support its mission and business goals.
