What they do

Founded in 2003 and led by Gita Murthy, PhD, RORE Inc. is a woman- and minority-owned construction management company headquartered in San Diego with offices in Honolulu. The company manages government and military contracts to build and renovate facilities throughout the U.S., as well as affordable housing for San Diego Habitat for Humanity.

To date, Dr. Murthy has managed over 45 contracts as a prime contractor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Air Force, and other public sector clients. Dr. Murthy has long had a great passion for construction, continued learning, and a commitment to philanthropy and community service, having served on the boards of the Associated General Contractors of America, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, the Associated Builders and Contractors, Society of American Military Engineers, the Fleet Science Center, and Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

Why we invested

COVID-19 delayed or halted many government contracts—the company’s primary revenue sources. As sales pick up again, working capital from the Advance Strategy helps cover construction project costs and maintain sufficient cash on hand to meet bonding requirements.
